RejuvaDERM Tips: Facial Cleansing

Tip 1: Wash your hands.

This is a crucial step that many people forget. Our hands and fingertips can transfer bacteria, oil, and dirt to our faces and should be cleaned properly with antibacterial soap before touching our faces.

Tip 2: Select an appropriate cleanser.

Cleansing the skin is a crucial part of a healthy skin routine. Removing impurities is essential for beautiful skin and allows for further products to absorb successfully into the skin. At RejuvaDERM, our staff are highly educated on a variety of medical grade skincare that is best suited for your skin. We would be happy to recommend a cleanser that is appropriate for you during your next visit.

Tip 3: Consider using a gentle micellar water as a pre-cleanse if you wear makeup.

Many people today live busy lives and wear waterproof or ’all-day wear makeup’ that can be difficult to break down. Gentle micellar water can be a great way to remove some of your makeup. We always recommend gentle upward stroking motions to remove makeup. Heavy pulling downwards on the skin is never recommended.

Tip 4: Don’t use water that is too hot.

Hot water can unnecessarily strip skin of moisture. Lukewarm water is sufficient to open pores and help loosen any facial debris.

Tip 5: Consider using a tool.

This is especially useful for people who wear makeup or people with an oily/congested skin type. We love the Qyksonic by ZOE. There are many benefits to this tool - but in short, it is an antimicrobial silicone cleansing tool that uses thousands of micropulsations to break up any oil, dirt, makeup, or debris on the skin.  Available in-store for pick up.

Tip 6: Pat skin dry (gently) and apply skincare promptly.

To keep your skin’s moisture barrier healthy apply serums, treatments, moisturizers as soon as possible.
