Hyperhidrosis is the medical term for excessive sweating. Botox Therapeutic is FDA approved for excessive underarm sweating that is inadequately managed with topical agents. Botox Therapeutic helps control this condition by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When the sweat glands don’t receive chemical signals, the excessive sweating stops.

Botox Therapeutic is covered by most private insurance plans. If the cost of your Botox is covered by your plan, we will charge you only an injection fee.  The Injection fee is $200 and will be performed by Dr. Malcolm or Dr. Wong. 

How Well Does Botox Work?

Botox works amazingly well for most patients. In one study of patients with excessive underarm sweating, 95% of patients experienced an average reduction in sweating of 83% in one week. Most patients go from excessive sweating to not having to wear antiperspirant at all.

When Do I First Notice Results?

You will notice a significant reduction in underarm sweating within a week after your first treatment.

How Long Do the Results Last?

The effects of BOTOX Therapeutic typically last up to 7 months on average. Studies have shown an absence of sweating ranging between 4 months and 18 months. The duration of a “sweat-free interval” increases by using higher doses of Botox.

The BOTOX Procedure

The procedure is fairly simple. A small volume of Botox is injected into the affected area through a very fine needle. The needle is placed just under the skin. You can also opt for some local numbing cream if you are really concerned about needles. BOTOX treatment takes only a few minutes, requires no anesthetic, recovery is immediate, and you can return to work and resume your normal daily activities that same day.
